Welcome to Dwellyoga
In the heart of Las Cruces along Downtown | Main Street.

Dwellyoga seeks to serve and strengthen the communities of Southern New Mexico by promoting health, wellness, and prosperity through the practice of yoga. At Dwell, our goal is to provide expert yoga instruction from a variety of styles that supports each individual and their goals. We aim to create a practice that is both safe and challenging; transformative yet enjoyable; and ultimately deeply enriching for all students of all levels.

As we begin, again and again we can tap into our heart's deepest desire to help manifest intention into action. This yoga tradition offers a refreshing alternative to the New Year's Resolution: the practice of Sankalpa or Resolve starts from the premise that you already are who you need to be to fulfill your life's calling.

We hope you will participate in our Sankalpa Graffiti, which will adorn the hallways to our studio!

Gil started practicing Power Yoga in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico in 2009 at the age of 37. Even though he found it quite challenging, he continued to practice, which began an extensive journey of Yoga. In 2010, Gil took his first Hatha Yoga teacher training at the Rishikesh Yoga Peeth School in India the summer of 2010 for seven weeks. He was looking to more deeply understand the roots of Yoga. After returning to Puerto Rico he started teaching around the island, including various maximum security prisons where he lead the yoga program for about two years. Teaching yoga there helped inmates reduce anxieties, the use of medications, as well as enhanced other aspects of life.

In 2011 Gil began practicing Progressive Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and Rocket Vinyasa Yoga under the tutelage of David Kyle (founder of Progressive Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga). Gil deepened his practice by training with David (who is an advanced student of the late Larry Schultz, creator of Rocket Yoga System). After completing his training Gil began teaching at David’s studio, Ashtanga Yoga Puerto Rico, in San Juan.

In 2016 he relocated to Austin, teaching in various local studios around the city. Gil continues to lead Rocket Workshops around Texas and other states, as well as provide various other opportunities for yoga practitioners to deepen their practice.

He’s an RYT-500 hours certified teacher, however, his philosophy strongly resides in an actual “yes you can, why not” kind of practice for everyone, rather than a mere “no you can’t do this”, kind of limited perspective. He works with all levels of practitioners to find their own internal compass for bringing their Yoga practice to Life.

Morocco Flyer Final_8.5x11 (2).jpg

I am beyond excited to share an opportunity to experience yoga and travel among the sweet sounds of these two amazing musicians, yoga teachers, and world travelers. Please consider joining me along with Jeremy Arndt & Nancy Grzeszak in February 2019 in Morocco! Many of you may recall meeting both Jeremy & Nancy the past two years they played live music and taught yoga here in Las Cruces.

I love that this yoga retreat will afford ample time to explore the culture of Morocco and provide time to dial down. Jeremy and Nancy have created a journey deep into the stillness of the Sahara Desert. This journey through the senses will have you exploring all of the wonders that Morocco has to offer.

It begins in the bustling city of Marrakesh, an ancient city famous for its cultural heritage, thriving souks (traditional markets), exquisite cuisine, and more. From there, you will proceed high into the Atlas mountains and onward to the Sahara Desert, stopping at famous sites like the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Aït Benhaddou, the Todra Gorge, Ourzazate, and Merzouga. From Merzouga, you will trek into the desert by camel, stopping at the Sahara Yoga desert oasis, for a retreat in the calm tranquility of the Sahara, featuring Yoga, live music, meditation, nature walks, and more.

To learn more about the retreat please visit:www.MysticalMoroccoRetreat.com or reach out to me directly.
